HISTORY
For half a century on the island (1790-1860) the parish institution organized education in primary schools, where the children of the newly created parishes learned to read and write.

Cas Catalá was the first school for children in Sant Jordi de Ses Salinas from the first of November 1917 (1917-1935), attended for the first time by the interim teacher Andreu Pol i Pujol, it was installed in some warehouses (old wine cellar) of the farmhouse (venta de cas costas), before this farm had been called “sa tanca de ca na munyosa”.

It was one of the first elementary schools in Sant Jordi de Ses Salines, until the first school buildings were built in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia by the state administration between 1927-1977.
